The challenge
UK clothing company Joules opened its new headquarters in Market Harborough. Joules had used Cemflow Topping Pigmented in several of its retail stores and specified it for the atrium of the new building. The floor covered about 500 m². It needed a finish similar to polished concrete, but with a significant saving in cost and time. It also had to take daily foot traffic and stay durable over time.
The DCP solution
DCP offered a layered flooring system. Two coats of Strongcoat DPM, an epoxy damp-proof membrane, were applied, with the second coat fully blinded with DCP coarse aggregate. One coat of DCP Neoprene Primer followed to improve adhesion. The wearing layer was Cemflow Topping Pigmented, an industrial-grade, self-smoothing floor topping for upgrading and renovating new and existing internal floors. Cemflow Sealer, a clear matt polyurethane sealer, was used to protect and seal the topping. Cemflow Topping carries the EMICODE EC1 low-emission label.
