The challenge
Schneider Electric President Systems Ltd (previously APW President Systems Limited) makes enclosure systems for IT and telecom. Its 10 year old RCC floor slab was worn, with undulations and potholes. The client wanted a seamless, even floor that could take rubber-wheeled trolleys and forklifts carrying 2 to 4 tonnes all day. The plant was in use, so the work had to be fast to avoid disrupting production.
The DCP solution
DCP inspected and reported on the floor, then proposed FeRFA compliant Strongcoat flooring systems for three zones: repairs and re-profiling, assembly and warehouse floors, and the gangway and loading bay. The quick turnaround from enquiry to execution kept delays to the business low.
DCP products used
How it was applied
- Floor repairs and re-profiling: Strongcoat Primer S, then Strongcoat Topping.
- Assembly, fabrication and warehouse floors: Strongcoat Primer S, Strongcoat SL1 used as a putty, then Strongcoat SL1 at 1 mm.
- Gangway and loading bay: Strongcoat Primer S, Strongcoat EU500 at 3 mm, then Strongcoat SL1 at 1 mm.
The result
4,000 m², 67% of the project, was completed within 5 days. The client was satisfied with the productivity, the appearance and the easier maintenance of the new floor.
